وَ قَفَّیۡنَا عَلٰۤی اٰثَارِہِمۡ بِعِیۡسَی ابۡنِ مَرۡیَمَ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡہِ مِنَ التَّوۡرٰىۃِ ۪ وَ اٰتَیۡنٰہُ الۡاِنۡجِیۡلَ فِیۡہِ ہُدًی وَّ نُوۡرٌ ۙ وَّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡہِ مِنَ التَّوۡرٰىۃِ وَ ہُدًی وَّ مَوۡعِظَۃً لِّلۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ

﴿ؕ۴۶﴾ 

And following in the footsteps of these (Messengers) We sent ‘Isa, the son of Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary) confirming the Book (the Torah) revealed before him. And We gave him the Injil (the Gospel) which contained guidance and light, and (the Injil [the Gospel] too) confirmed the (Book) Torah that preceded it. And it was (an absolute) guidance and admonition for the Godfearing.

और हमने उन (पैग़म्बरों) के पीछे उन (ही) के नुक़ूशे क़दम पर ईसा इब्ने मर्यम (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) को भेजा जो अपने से पहले की (किताब) तौरात की तस्दीक़ करने वाले थे और हमने उनको इन्जील अ़ता की जिस में हिदायत और नूर था और (ये इन्जील भी) अपने से पहले की (किताब) तौरात की तस्दीक़ करने वाली (थी) और (सरासर) हिदायत थी और परहेज़गारों के लिए नसीहत थी।

[al-Mā’idah, 5:47]

وَ لۡیَحۡکُمۡ اَہۡلُ الۡاِنۡجِیۡلِ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰہُ فِیۡہِ ؕ وَ مَنۡ لَّمۡ یَحۡکُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰہُ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ

﴿۴۷﴾ 

And the People of the Injil ([the Gospel] too) are required to judge in accordance with that (commandment) which Allah has sent down in it. And he who does not judge (and run the state) complying with the commandments Allah has revealed, it is they who are unruly and wicked.

और अह्‌ले इन्जील को (भी) उस (हुक्म) के मुताबिक़ फैसला करना चाहिए जो अल्लाह ने उसमें नाज़िल फरमाया है, और जो शख़्स अल्लाह के नाज़िल कर्दा हुक्म के मुताबिक़ फैसला (व हुकूमत) न करे सो वोही लोग फासिक़ हैं।

[al-Mā’idah, 5:48]

وَ اَنۡزَلۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ الۡکِتٰبَ بِالۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡہِ مِنَ الۡکِتٰبِ وَ مُہَیۡمِنًا عَلَیۡہِ فَاحۡکُمۡ بَیۡنَہُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰہُ وَ لَا تَتَّبِعۡ اَہۡوَآءَہُمۡ عَمَّا جَآءَکَ مِنَ الۡحَقِّ ؕ لِکُلٍّ جَعَلۡنَا مِنۡکُمۡ شِرۡعَۃً وَّ مِنۡہَاجًا ؕ وَ لَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ لَجَعَلَکُمۡ اُمَّۃً وَّاحِدَۃً وَّ لٰکِنۡ لِّیَبۡلُوَکُمۡ فِیۡ مَاۤ اٰتٰىکُمۡ فَاسۡتَبِقُوا الۡخَیۡرٰتِ ؕ اِلَی اللّٰہِ مَرۡجِعُکُمۡ جَمِیۡعًا فَیُنَبِّئُکُمۡ بِمَا کُنۡتُمۡ فِیۡہِ تَخۡتَلِفُوۡنَ

﴿ۙ۴۸﴾ 

And, (O Most Esteemed Messenger,) We have revealed the Book to you (also) with the truth which confirms the Book that preceded it and stands as a guardian over (the actual commands and contents contained in) it. So judge between them according to these (commandments) which Allah has revealed. And do not follow their desires turning away from the truth that has come to you. We have designed for each one of you a discrete law and an all-embracing way of life. Had Allah so willed, He would have made you all one Umma ([Community] agreeing to the same law). But He wants to test you in these (separately given sets of commandments) which He has given you (suiting your respective life situations). So, make haste in doing pious works. To Allah have you all to return. He will then enlighten you on (the truth and falsehood in all the matters in) which you used to disagree.

और (ऐ नबिय्ये मुकर्रम!) हमने आपकी तरफ सच्चाई के साथ किताब नाज़िल फरमाई है जो अपने से पहले की किताबों की तस्दीक़ करने वाली है और उस (के अस्ल अह्‌काम व मज़ामीन) पर निगहबान है, पस आप उनके दर्मियान उन (अह्‌काम) के मुताबिक़ फैसला फरमाएं जो अल्लाह ने नाज़िल फरमाए हैं और आप उनकी ख़्वाहिशात की पैरवी न करें, उस हक़्क़ से दूर होकर जो आपके पास आ चुका है। हमने तुम में से हर एक के लिए अलग शरीअ़त और कु शादा राहे अ़मल बनाई है। और अगर अल्लाह चाहता तो तुम सबको (एक शरीअ़त पर मुत्तफिक़) एक ही उम्मत बना देता लेकिन वोह तुम्हें उन (अलग अलग अह्‌काम) में आज़माना चाहता है जो उसने तुम्हें (तुम्हारे हस्बे हाल) दिए हैं, सो तुम नेकियों में जल्दी करो। अल्लाह ही की तरफ तुम सब को पलटना है, फिर वोह तुम्हें उन (सब बातों में हक़्क़ो बातिल) से आगाह फरमा देगा जिन में तुम इख़्तिलाफ करते रहते थे।
