𝟭) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴

This concept of the starting of the universe also known as "The Big Bang" was discussed in the Glourious Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

Whilst the scientific theory of the Big Bang, was proposed in the 1927 by Georges Lemaître, a Belgian physicist and later developed further by scientists like George Gamow and Ralph Alpher. 

Allah ﷻ states:

اَوَ لَمۡ یَرَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اَنَّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ کَانَتَا رَتۡقًا فَفَتَقۡنٰہُمَا ؕ وَ جَعَلۡنَا مِنَ الۡمَآءِ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّ ؕ اَفَلَا یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ

Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass (ratqan), then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 

(Surah Al-Anbiya Verse 31)

The arabic word "ratqan" means a closed-up mass. It also means darkness. A dark, closed-up mass is a perfect description of what we know the universe looked like in its earliest moments. The heavens and the Earth were indeed opened out from this mass to produce the universe we see today.

The verse further says that water is the basis of life. This is now an accepted scientific fact. When NASA look for planets that can bear life, they look for water.

The scientists started knowing about it 97 Years ago. ❌

𝟮) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲

The Concept that the Universe is continuously expanding has also been mentioned in the Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

Whilst the scientific theory of the Expansion of the universe by also 

Einstein with his 'field equations’ which was created in 1915 suggested that the universe was expanding like a balloon. 

For decades thereafter, scientists thought the universe exploded out of the Big Bang, and has been slowing down ever since. But they were wrong. The universe’s expansion has recently been speeding up. This mysterious re-expansion is driven by what we call dark energy.

The discovery that the universe is not only expanding but also accelerating in its expansion was made in the late 1990s. Two independent teams of scientists, the Supernova Cosmology Project and the High-Z Supernova Search Team, were studying distant supernovae to measure the rate of expansion of the universe over time. They found that the expansion of the universe was actually accelerating rather than slowing down, which was a surprising result. This discovery led to the recognition of dark energy as a mysterious force driving the acceleration of cosmic expansion.

But this was all known mentioned in the Holy Quran which describes this perfectly:

وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ

And We have built the heaven with might and We continue to expand it indeed.

(Surah Qaf Verse 48)

This astonishing verse does not just tell us that the universe has expanded. The arabic ‘la-mūsiʿūna’ tells us that the universe is continuing to expand.

The scientists started knowing about it (1998) which is 26 Years ago. ❌

𝟯) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲

The Glourious Quran does not only tell us about things that have already been discovered. Rather, it also tells us about the scientific phenomena still debated today.

One such topic is the end of the universe. Will it continue to expand forever, or collapse back in on itself? The Holy Quran sheds light on this enigmatic matter:

یَوۡمَ نَطۡوِی السَّمَآءَ کَطَیِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلۡکُتُبِ ؕ کَمَا بَدَاۡنَاۤ اَوَّلَ خَلۡقٍ نُّعِیۡدُہٗ ؕ وَعۡدًا عَلَیۡنَا ؕ اِنَّا کُنَّا فٰعِلِیۡنَ

“Remember the day when We shall roll up the heavens like the rolling up of written scrolls by a scribe. As We began the first creation, so shall We repeat it — a promise binding upon Us; We shall certainly perform it.”

(Surah Al-Anbiya Verse 104 ) 

This vivid description of the Quran completely fits the picture of the universe collapsing into a black hole. Angular momentum would cause the fabric of space to enter into it like the rolls of parchment.

The scientists are in confusion ❌

𝟰)𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆

This concept of the process of the Human Embryology was entirely discussed in the Glourious Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

Whilst the limited scientific discovery just in the 7th Century of embryology was just still in its infancy and couldn't be fully understood. 

It became officially recognized as a scientific discipline in the late 19th century. Wilhelm Roux, a German biologist, is often credited as one of the pioneers of modern embryology with his work in the late 1800s.

The most advanced embryological knowledge of the day belonged to the Greek Doctor Galen, who held incorrect notions about the origin of semen and the development of the embryo. In contrast, the Quranic account is more accurate and verified by our modern observations.

However the Glourious Quran mentioned it all clearly 1445 Years ago:

وَ لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنۡ طِیۡنٍ ﴿ۚ۱۳﴾ ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنٰهُ نُطۡفَةً فِیۡ قَرَارٍ مَّکِیۡنٍ ﴿۪۱۴﴾ ثُمَّ خَلَقۡنَا النُّطۡفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡعَلَقَةَ مُضۡغَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡمُضۡغَةَ عِظٰمًا فَکَسَوۡنَا الۡعِظٰمَ لَحۡمًا ٭ ثُمَّ اَنۡشَاۡنٰهُ خَلۡقًا اٰخَرَ ؕ فَتَبٰرَکَ اللهُ اَحۡسَنُ الۡخٰلِقِیۡنَ ﴿ؕ۱۵

“Verily, We created man from an extract of clay; Then We placed him as a drop of sperm in a safe depository. Then we fashioned the sperm into a clot; then We fashioned the clot into a shapeless lump; then We fashioned bones out of this shapeless lump; then We clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed it into another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators.”

(Surah Al-Mu'minun Verse 13-15)

The Arabic used in this verse accurately depicts the detail and sequence of how we develop in the womb. The Quran describes how the conceptus is produced from a mixture of elements, how the early embryo clings onto the uterine wall, how it then develops into a differentially formed lump, before developing bony structures clothed with flesh. Finally, it describes the birth of the soul within the physical framework of the body.

The verse’s startling accuracy, Maurice Bucaille, a French doctor who studied this verse, remarked:

“More than a thousand years before our time, at a period when whimsical doctrines still prevailed, men had… the Qur’an. The statements it contains express in simple terms truths of primordial importance which man has taken centuries to discover.”

The scientists couldn't comprehend it until the 19th century ❌

𝟱)𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗴𝘀

This concept mentions the deep root Systems of Mountains that are like pegs in the ground as discussed in the Glourious Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

Whilst this was not fully known until the late 19th century with the Isostatic theory. The concept of isostasy, or isostatic equilibrium, was developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by geologists like Clarence Dutton, John Henry Pratt, and Sir George Biddell Airy. 

The analogy of mountains being like pegs or floating icebergs, with much of their mass hidden beneath the surface, was popularized by the geologist John Henry Pratt in the late 19th century. Pratt used this analogy to describe the concept of isostasy, suggesting that mountains have deep roots extending into the Earth's crust to maintain stability, much like a peg anchored in the ground or an iceberg floating in water. 

Mountains are among the grandest features of Earth’s landscapes. What lies beneath their surface has been an impenetrable mystery until the invention of modern technology.

The Quran however gave us guidance on this over a millennium ago:

اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ مِهدًا ۙ﴿۷﴾ وَّ الۡجِبَالَ اَوۡتَادًا ﴿۪ۙ۸﴾

“Have We not made the earth a bed, And the mountains as pegs?”

(Surah An-Naba Verse 7-8)

Here mountains, Al-Jibāl, are described as pegs. The word awtādan means roots, or pegs. Astoundingly, modern geology has discovered that mountains project deep roots into the Earth’s crust. One geology textbook tells us:

“Beneath a mountain range, where the crust is thickest, a deep root projects into the mantle and provides buoyancy.” Understanding Earth, Grotzinger & Jordan, pg. 630 (2014).

Not only this, but an even more astounding declaration is made in the Quran:

وَ تَرَی الۡجِبَالَ تَحۡسَبُهَا جَامِدَۃً وَّ هِیَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحَابِ ؕ صُنۡعَ اللهِ الَّذِیۡۤ أَتۡقَنَ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ ؕ اِنَّهُ خَبِیۡرٌۢ بِمَا تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿۸۹﴾

“The mountains that you see, you think they are stationary while they are constantly floating like the floating of clouds. Such is the work of Allah Who made everything firm and strong. ” 

(Surah An-Naml Verse 89)

Here, the Quran tells us that visible mountains appear stationary while in reality they float like clouds. There are only two ways in which this can be true: either the entire Earth is rotating, causing the mountains to float in space, or mountain ranges are somehow floating on top of the Earth.

Incredibly, both are true! The Earth is indeed rotating. Not only this, but mountain ranges float on top of the Earth’s crust:

“… as a mountain range forms, it slowly sinks under the force of gravity, and the continental crust bends downward. When enough of a root bulges into the mantle to provide buoyancy, the mountain range floats.” Understanding Earth, Grotzinger & Jordan, pg. 630 (2014).

The scientists didn't know this until late 19th and early 20th centuries ❌

𝟲) 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

One of the greatest scientific revolutions of the modern day was the discovery that the Earth’s continents are not fixed. 

Seafloor spreading and the theory of plate tectonics were proposed in the mid-20th century, revolutionizing our understanding of Earth's geological processes. In the early 1960s, scientists such as Harry Hess and Robert S. Dietz developed the theory of seafloor spreading, which suggested that new oceanic crust is formed at mid-ocean ridges and spreads outward. This concept was further supported by discoveries of magnetic striping on the ocean floor.

In 1967, the theory of plate tectonics was formulated, incorporating seafloor spreading along with continental drift. This theory, proposed by geologists like Alfred Wegener, Harry Hess, and others, suggests that Earth's lithosphere is divided into several large plates that move over the asthenosphere, leading to phenomena such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain building.

The Quran itself sheds light on this topic. 

وَ الۡاَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنٰہَا وَ اَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیۡہَا رَوَاسِیَ وَ اَنۡۢبَتۡنَا فِیۡہَا مِنۡ کُلِّ زَوۡجٍۭ بَہِیۡجٍ

“And the earth — We have spread it out, and placed therein firm mountains (rāwasiya); and We have made to grow therein every kind of beautiful species.” Holy Quran, 50:8

In verses such as this, the Holy Quran tells us that the Earth has been spread out.

We now know that tectonic plates are produced in a process literally called seafloor spreading. This occurs at mid-ocean ridges, where magma bursts out of the Earth to produce oceanic crust. This process also produces volcanoes on the ocean floor, which become seamounts, or rāwasiya, as explained earlier.

But there is more. Not only is the crust of the Earth literally produced in seafloor spreading, but tectonic plates have themselves been spread across the surface of the globe. While they were once the super-continent Pangaea, they are now distributed across the globe to produce the Earth we inhabit today.

By discussing the shifting ground on which we walk, and linking it to seamounts, the Quran has once again demonstrated its truth for our scientific age.

The scientists didn't know this 57 years ago. ❌

𝟳)𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿

The discovery of the ozone layer began in the early 20th century, with French physicists Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson detecting its presence in 1913. 

But this was already mentioned in the Quran:

وَجَعَلۡنَا السَّمَآءَ سَقۡفًا مَّحۡفُوۡظًا ۖۚ وَّهُمۡ عَنۡ اٰيٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُوۡنَ‏

And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.

(Surah Al-Anbiya Verse 32) 

Quran mentioned it 1445 Years ago ✅ 

The scientists started knowing about it (1913) 111 Years ago. ❌

𝟴) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘀 

The most significant advancements in understanding planetary orbits came in the 16th and 17th centuries. Nicolaus Copernicus proposed a heliocentric model in the early 16th century, suggesting that the planets, including Earth, orbit the Sun. Johannes Kepler, building on the work of Tycho Brahe, formulated his laws of planetary motion in the early 17th century, which accurately described the orbits of planets as elliptical paths with the Sun at one focus.

The main idea of understanding planetary orbits shifted significantly in the early 17th century with Johannes Kepler's formulation of his laws of planetary motion, around the years 1609-1619. 

But the Glourious Quran over 1400 years ago stated:

لَا الشَّمۡسُ يَنۡۢبَغِىۡ لَهَاۤ اَنۡ تُدۡرِكَ الۡقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِؕ وَكُلٌّ فِىۡ فَلَكٍ يَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ‏

It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night outrun the day. Each is travelling in an orbit of their own.

(Surah Yasin Verse 40)

&

وَهُوَ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ الَّيۡلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمۡسَ وَالۡقَمَرَؕ كُلٌّ فِىۡ فَلَكٍ يَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ‏ 

It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Each of them is floating in its orbit.

(Surah Al-Anbiya Verse 33)

Quran mentioned it 1445 Years ago ✅ 

The scientists started knowing abit about it around 415 Years ago. ❌

𝟵)𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲

This factual discovery that the Iron metal is not a origination from the Earth but rather it sent down within Asteroids and Meteorites from Space this was mentioned in Glourious Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

While with the Science the recognition that iron and other elements could come from outer space dates back to only the 19th century, with significant contributions from scientists such as Ernst Chladni and Ernst F. F. Chladni, a German physicist and musician, proposed in the late 18th century that meteorites were extraterrestrial in origin. 

In the early 20th century, further research by scientists like Victor Goldschmidt and Henry Norris Russell helped to solidify the understanding of meteorites as remnants of material from space.

The discovery that iron, in particular, could come from space is attributed to the analysis of meteorites, which contain significant amounts of iron and other elements. Through chemical analysis and comparison with terrestrial materials, scientists concluded that meteoritic iron had compositions consistent with extraterrestrial origins. This understanding has continued to evolve with ongoing research in the field of astronomy and planetary science.

But in the Quran it stated already:

And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allāh may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allāh is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا الۡحَـدِيۡدَ فِيۡهِ بَاۡسٌ شَدِيۡدٌ وَّمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَـعۡلَمَ اللّٰهُ مَنۡ يَّنۡصُرُهٗ وَ رُسُلَهٗ بِالۡغَيۡبِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيۡزٌ

(Surah Al-Hadid Verse 25)

Quran mentioned it 1445 Years ago ✅ 

The scientists started knowing about it around 100 Years ago. ❌

𝟭𝟬) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝗲

This concept of the fact the frontal lobe is associated with various cognitive functions, including decision-making, problem-solving, and social behavior. This was stated in the Quran over 1400 Years ago. 

However within science the understanding that lying and other complex behaviors are associated with specific brain regions, including the frontal lobe, is a relatively recent development in neuroscience. 

 

One key study that contributed to our understanding of the frontal lobe's involvement in lying is a research paper published in 2005 by Joshua Greene, Joseph Paxton, et al. The study used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate brain activity in individuals as they engaged in deception tasks. The findings suggested that the prefrontal cortex, a region of the frontal lobe, plays a significant role in the cognitive processes involved in lying. While this study is just one example, it illustrates how modern neuroscience techniques have advanced our understanding of the brain's role in complex behaviors like lying.

While in the Quran it already stated:

No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock. 

A lying, sinning forelock. 

كَلَّا لَـئِنۡ لَّمۡ يَنۡتَهِ ۙ لَنَسۡفَعًۢا بِالنَّاصِيَةِۙ‏

نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ۚ‏ 

(Surah Al-'Alaq Verse 15-16)

The scientists started knowing about it more around 20 Years ago. ❌

𝟭𝟭)𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 & 𝗦𝘂𝗻

In the 17th century when Galileo Galilei used telescopes to observe the moon's surface and concluded that its light was reflected sunlight. This observation was further supported by subsequent astronomers who studied the moon's surface and composition.

Galileo Galilei made significant observations of the moon through his telescope in the early 17th century. He first observed the moon's surface and its phases in 1609 and 1610. It was through these observations that he concluded that the moon's light was reflected sunlight rather than its own source of illumination. 

But this was mentioned in the Quran:

هُوَ الَّذِىۡ جَعَلَ الشَّمۡسَ ضِيَآءً وَّالۡقَمَرَ نُوۡرًا وَّقَدَّرَهٗ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعۡلَمُوۡا عَدَدَ السِّنِيۡنَ وَالۡحِسَابَؕ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ ذٰلِكَ اِلَّا بِالۡحَـقِّۚ يُفَصِّلُ الۡاٰيٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏

He is the One Who made the sun a radiant source and the moon a reflected light, with precisely ordained phases, so that you may know the number of years and calculation ˹of time˺. Allah did not create all this except for a purpose. He makes the signs clear for people of knowledge.

(Surah Yunus Verse 5)

This verse distinguishes between the roles of the sun and the moon: the sun is described as a "ضِيَآءً" or a radiant source of light, while the moon is described as a "نُوۡرًا" or a light. This differentiation reflects the scientific understanding that the sun emits its own light (as it is a star), while the moon reflects the light of the sun. This distinction is also significant in terms of the functions assigned to each celestial body in providing light and marking the passage of time.
