Musa (Moses) عليه السلام & sacrifice of a cow
[al-Baqarah, 2:67]
وَ اِذۡ قَالَ مُوۡسٰی لِقَوۡمِہٖۤ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُکُمۡ اَنۡ تَذۡبَحُوۡا بَقَرَۃً ؕ قَالُوۡۤا اَتَتَّخِذُنَا ہُزُوًا ؕ قَالَ اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰہِ اَنۡ اَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡجٰہِلِیۡنَ
﴿۶۷﴾
And (also recall) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: ‘Verily, Allah enjoins you to sacrifice a cow.’ They said: ‘Do you make fools of us?’ Musa (Moses) said: ‘I seek the protection of Allah (against) becoming one of the ignorant.’
और (वोह वाक़िआ भी याद करो) जब मूसा (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) ने अपनी क़ौम से फरमाया कि बेशक अल्लाह तुम्हें हुक्म देता है कि एक गाय ज़ब्ह करो, (तो) वोह बोले क्या आप हमें मस्ख़रा बनाते हैं? मूसा (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) ने फरमाया: अल्लाह की पनाह मांगता हूं (इससे) कि मैं जाहिलों में से हो जाऊं।
[al-Baqarah, 2:68]
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّکَ یُبَیِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا ہِیَ ؕ قَالَ اِنَّہٗ یَقُوۡلُ اِنَّہَا بَقَرَۃٌ لَّا فَارِضٌ وَّ لَا بِکۡرٌ ؕ عَوَانٌۢ بَیۡنَ ذٰلِکَ ؕ فَافۡعَلُوۡا مَا تُؤۡمَرُوۡنَ
﴿۶۸﴾
(Then) they said: ‘Pray for us to your Lord that He may make clear to us what kind of cow (that) shall be.’ (Musa [Moses]) said: ‘Certainly, He ordains that the cow is to be neither old nor young (heifer), but in between (fully grown). So now implement what you have been ordered.’
(तब) उन्होंने कहा: आप हमारे लिए अपने रब से दुआ करें कि वोह हम पर वाजे़ह कर दे कि (वोह) गाय कैसी हो ? (मूसा अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने) कहा: बेशक वोह फरमाता है कि वोह गाय न तो बूढ़ी हो और न बिल्कुल कम उम्र (औसर), बल्कि दर्मियानी उम्र की (रास) हो, पस अब तामील करो जिसका तुम्हें हुक्म दिया गया है।
[al-Baqarah, 2:69]
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّکَ یُبَیِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا لَوۡنُہَا ؕ قَالَ اِنَّہٗ یَقُوۡلُ اِنَّہَا بَقَرَۃٌ صَفۡرَآءُ ۙ فَاقِعٌ لَّوۡنُہَا تَسُرُّ النّٰظِرِیۡنَ
﴿۶۹﴾
They (again) said: ‘Pray to your Lord for us that He may specify what her colour should be.’ Musa (Moses) said: ‘He says the cow should be yellow, rich in tone, (so attractive that) it pleases the viewers.’
वोह (फिर) बोले: अपने रब से हमारे हक़ में दुआ करें वोह हमारे लिए वाज़ेह कर दे कि उसका रंग कैसा हो? (मूसा अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने) कहा: वोह फरमाता है कि वोह गाय ज़र्द रंग की हो, उसकी रंगत ख़ूब गहरी हो (ऐसी जाज़िबे नज़र हो कि) देखने वालों को बहुत भली लगे।
[al-Baqarah, 2:70]
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّکَ یُبَیِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا ہِیَ ۙ اِنَّ الۡبَقَرَ تَشٰبَہَ عَلَیۡنَا ؕ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ لَمُہۡتَدُوۡنَ
قَالُوا ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّکَ یُبَیِّنۡ لَّنَا مَا ہِیَ ۙ اِنَّ الۡبَقَرَ تَشٰبَہَ عَلَیۡنَا ؕ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ لَمُہۡتَدُوۡنَ
﴿۷۰﴾
(This time) they said: ‘Pray for us to your Lord that He may make clear to us what exact type of cow it is (because) the cow has become doubtful to us, and if Allah so wills, we shall indeed be guided aright.’
(अब) उन्होंने कहा: आप हमारे लिए अपने रब से दरख़ास्त कीजिए कि वोह हम पर वाज़ेह फरमा दे कि वोह कौन सी गाय है ? (क्यूं कि) हम पर गाय मुश्तबह हो गई है, और यक़ीनन अगर अल्लाह ने चाहा तो हम ज़रूर हिदायत याफ्ता हो जाएंगे।
[al-Baqarah, 2:71]

[al-Baqarah, 2:71]
قَالَ اِنَّہٗ یَقُوۡلُ اِنَّہَا بَقَرَۃٌ لَّا ذَلُوۡلٌ تُثِیۡرُ الۡاَرۡضَ وَ لَا تَسۡقِی الۡحَرۡثَ ۚ مُسَلَّمَۃٌ لَّا شِیَۃَ فِیۡہَا ؕ قَالُوا الۡـٰٔنَ جِئۡتَ بِالۡحَقِّ ؕ فَذَبَحُوۡہَا وَ مَا کَادُوۡا یَفۡعَلُوۡنَ
﴿٪۷۱﴾
(Musa [Moses] said:) Allah has ordained: ‘(That is not any inferior cow. Instead) it is certainly a (superior) cow, which has been employed neither for ploughing nor for watering the field, a cow in sound health, without any blemish.’ They said: ‘Now you (have) brought the truth.’ So they sacrificed it, though they did not look like doing it.
मूसा (अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने कहा) अल्लाह तआला फरमाता है (वोह कोई घटिया गाय नहीं बल्कि) यक़ीनी तौर पर ऐसी (आ’ला) गाय हो जिससे न ज़मीन में हल चलाने की मेहनत ली जाती हो और न खेती को पानी देती हो, बिल्कुल तन्दुरुस्त हो उसमें कोई दाग़ धब्बा भी न हो, उन्होंने कहा: अब आप ठीक बात लाए (हैं ), फिर उन्होंने उसको ज़ब्ह किया हालांकि वोह ज़ब्ह करते मालूम न होते थे।
[al-Baqarah, 2:72]
وَ اِذۡ قَتَلۡتُمۡ نَفۡسًا فَادّٰرَءۡتُمۡ فِیۡہَا ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ مُخۡرِجٌ مَّا کُنۡتُمۡ تَکۡتُمُوۡنَ
﴿ۚ۷۲﴾
And (recall), when you killed a man, then started disputing amongst yourselves (for its blame), and Allah was to unveil that event which you were concealing.
और जब तुमने एक शख़्स को क़त्ल कर दिया फिर तुम आपस में उस (के इल्ज़ाम) में झगड़ने लगे और अल्लाह (वोह बात) ज़ाहिर फरमाने वाला था जिसे तुम छुपा रहे थे।
[al-Baqarah, 2:73]
فَقُلۡنَا اضۡرِبُوۡہُ بِبَعۡضِہَا ؕ کَذٰلِکَ یُحۡیِ اللّٰہُ الۡمَوۡتٰی ۙ وَ یُرِیۡکُمۡ اٰیٰتِہٖ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ
فَقُلۡنَا اضۡرِبُوۡہُ بِبَعۡضِہَا ؕ کَذٰلِکَ یُحۡیِ اللّٰہُ الۡمَوۡتٰی ۙ وَ یُرِیۡکُمۡ اٰیٰتِہٖ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ
﴿۷۳﴾
Then We commanded: ‘Strike this (dead body) with a piece of this (cow).’ That is how Allah restores the dead to life, (or will give life to the dead on the Day of Resurrection,) and He shows you His signs so that you may apply your knowledge and understanding.
फिर हमने हुक्म दिया कि उस (मुर्दा) पर इस (गाय) का एक टुकड़ा मारो, इसी तरह अल्लाह मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा फरमाता है। (या क़ियामत के दिन मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा करेगा) और तुम्हें अपनी निशानियां दिखाता है ताकि तुम अ़क़्लो शुऊर से काम लो।

फिर हमने हुक्म दिया कि उस (मुर्दा) पर इस (गाय) का एक टुकड़ा मारो, इसी तरह अल्लाह मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा फरमाता है। (या क़ियामत के दिन मुर्दों को ज़िन्दा करेगा) और तुम्हें अपनी निशानियां दिखाता है ताकि तुम अ़क़्लो शुऊर से काम लो।
[al-Baqarah, 2:74]
ثُمَّ قَسَتۡ قُلُوۡبُکُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ ذٰلِکَ فَہِیَ کَالۡحِجَارَۃِ اَوۡ اَشَدُّ قَسۡوَۃً ؕ وَ اِنَّ مِنَ الۡحِجَارَۃِ لَمَا یَتَفَجَّرُ مِنۡہُ الۡاَنۡہٰرُ ؕ وَ اِنَّ مِنۡہَا لَمَا یَشَّقَّقُ فَیَخۡرُجُ مِنۡہُ الۡمَآءُ ؕ وَ اِنَّ مِنۡہَا لَمَا یَہۡبِطُ مِنۡ خَشۡیَۃِ اللّٰہِ ؕوَ مَا اللّٰہُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۷۴﴾
Then (even) after this, your hearts hardened. So (in hardness) they (have become) like stones or even harder. For of stones there are some from which streams burst out; and certainly, some out of them are such (stones) that split up and water gushes out of them; and indeed there are others of them that fall due to fear of Allah. (Alas! Your hearts have not remained even that much soft, tender and feeble) and Allah is not unaware of what you do.
फिर उसके बाद (भी) तुम्हारे दिल सख़्त हो गए चुनांचे वोह (सख़्ती में) पत्थरों जैसे (हो गए) हैं या उनसे भी ज़ियादह सख़्त (हो चुके हैं, इसलिए कि) बेशक पत्थरों में (तो) बा’ज़ ऐसे भी हैं जिनसे नहरें फूट निकलती हैं, और यक़ीनन उनमें से बा’ज़ वोह (पत्थर) भी हैं जो फट जाते हैं तो उनसे पानी उबल पड़ता है, और बेशक उनमें से बा’ज़ ऐसे भी हैं जो अल्लाह के ख़ौफ से गिर पड़ते हैं, (अफ्सोस! तुम्हारे दिलों में इस क़दर नर्मीर्, ख़स्तगी और शिकस्तगी भी नहीं रही) और अल्लाह तुम्हारे कामों से बे ख़बर नहीं।
