The Power of Intention (Niyyat)
The Power of Intention:
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ
There is a famous hadith, Narrated by 'Umar bin al-Khattab رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ RasoolAllah (ﷺ) teaches us a fundamental principle of Islam: that the reward of our actions depends on our intentions. Every deed we perform, whether it be big or small, is weighed by the sincerity of our intentions.
Indeed, our intentions are the driving force behind our actions. It is through our intentions that we seek closeness to Allah and His Beloved ﷺ, and it is through our intentions that our deeds are elevated in the sight of Allah.
Therefore, let us reflect on our intentions in all that we do. Let us strive to purify our intentions and dedicate our actions solely to seeking the pleasure of Allah.
