Account of Maryam (Mary) in the Book (the Holy Qur’an)
[Maryam, 19:16]
وَ اذۡکُرۡ فِی الۡکِتٰبِ مَرۡیَمَ ۘ اِذِ انۡتَبَذَتۡ مِنۡ اَہۡلِہَا مَکَانًا شَرۡقِیًّا
﴿ۙ۱۶﴾
And, (O My Esteemed Beloved,) recite the account of Maryam (Mary) in the Book (the Holy Qur’an) when she separated from her family (adopting seclusion for worship and) moved to the eastern house.
और (ऐ हबीबे मुकर्रम!) आप किताब (क़ुरआन मजीद) में मर्यम (अ़लैहा अस्सलाम) का ज़िक्र कीजिए, जब वोह अपने घर वालों से अलग होकर (इबादत के लिए ख़ल्वत इख़्तियार करते हुए) मश्रिक़ी मकान में आ गईं।
[Maryam, 19:17]
فَاتَّخَذَتۡ مِنۡ دُوۡنِہِمۡ حِجَابًا ۪۟ فَاَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡہَا رُوۡحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَہَا بَشَرًا سَوِیًّا
﴿۱۷﴾
So she adopted veiling from them (the family and the people so that the absolute divine beauty unveils Himself). Then We sent towards her Our Spirit (the angel, Gabriel), who appeared before her in complete form of a human being.
पस उन्होंने उन (घर वालों और लोगों) की तरफ से हिजाब इख़्तियार कर लिया (ताकि हुस्ने मुत्लक़ अपना हिजाब उठा दे) तो हमने उनकी तरफ अपनी रूह (यानी फरिश्ता जिबराईल) को भेजा सो (जिबराईल) उनके सामने मुकम्मल बशरी सूरत में ज़ाहिर हुआ।
[Maryam, 19:18]
قَالَتۡ اِنِّیۡۤ اَعُوۡذُ بِالرَّحۡمٰنِ مِنۡکَ اِنۡ کُنۡتَ تَقِیًّا
﴿۱۸﴾
(Maryam [Mary]) said: ‘I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Lord) from you if you fear (Allah).’
(मर्यम अ़लैहा अस्सलाम ने) कहा: बेशक मैं तुझसे (खु़दाए) रहमान की पनाह मांगती हूं अगर तू (अल्लाह से) डरने वाला है।
[Maryam, 19:19]
قَالَ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا رَسُوۡلُ رَبِّکِ ٭ۖ لِاَہَبَ لَکِ غُلٰمًا زَکِیًّا
﴿۱۹﴾
(Jibra’il [Gabriel]) said: ‘I am only a messenger from your Lord. (I have come) to bestow upon you a pure son.’
(जिबराईल अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने) कहा: मैं तो फक़त तेरे रब का भेजा हुआ हूं, (इसलिए आया हूं) कि मैं तुझे एक पाकीज़ा बेटा अता करूं।
[Maryam, 19:20]
قَالَتۡ اَنّٰی یَکُوۡنُ لِیۡ غُلٰمٌ وَّ لَمۡ یَمۡسَسۡنِیۡ بَشَرٌ وَّ لَمۡ اَکُ بَغِیًّا
﴿۲۰﴾
(Maryam [Mary]) said: ‘How can there be a son to me, whereas no man has even touched me, nor am I unchaste?’
(मर्यम अ़लैहा अस्सलाम ने) कहा: मेरे हां लड़का कैसे हो सकता है जब कि मुझे किसी इंसान ने छुआ तक नहीं और न ही मैं बदकार हूं।
[Maryam, 19:21]
قَالَ کَذٰلِکِ ۚ قَالَ رَبُّکِ ہُوَ عَلَیَّ ہَیِّنٌ ۚ وَ لِنَجۡعَلَہٗۤ اٰیَۃً لِّلنَّاسِ وَ رَحۡمَۃً مِّنَّا ۚ وَ کَانَ اَمۡرًا مَّقۡضِیًّا
﴿۲۱﴾
(Jibra’il [Gabriel]) said: ‘(Do not wonder.) It will be the same way. Your Lord says: This (work) is easy for Me, and (the objective is) that We may make him a sign for the people and mercy from Us. And it is a matter (already) decreed.’
(जिबराईल अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने) कहा: (तअ़ज्जुब न कर) ऐसे ही होगा, तेरे रब ने फरमाया है: ये (काम) मुझ पर आसान है, और (ये इसलिए होगा) ताकि हम उसे लोगों के लिए निशानी और अपनी जानिब से रहमत बना दें, और ये अम्र (पहले से) तय शुदा है।
[Maryam, 19:22]
فَحَمَلَتۡہُ فَانۡتَبَذَتۡ بِہٖ مَکَانًا قَصِیًّا
﴿۲۲﴾
So Maryam (Mary) conceived him and positioned herself at a remote site, aloof (from the people).
पस मर्यम (अ़लैहा अस्सलाम) ने उसे पेट में ले लिया और (आबादी से) अलग होकर दूर एक मक़ाम पर जा बैठीं।
[Maryam, 19:23]
فَاَجَآءَہَا الۡمَخَاضُ اِلٰی جِذۡعِ النَّخۡلَۃِ ۚ قَالَتۡ یٰلَیۡتَنِیۡ مِتُّ قَبۡلَ ہٰذَا وَ کُنۡتُ نَسۡیًا مَّنۡسِیًّا
فَاَجَآءَہَا الۡمَخَاضُ اِلٰی جِذۡعِ النَّخۡلَۃِ ۚ قَالَتۡ یٰلَیۡتَنِیۡ مِتُّ قَبۡلَ ہٰذَا وَ کُنۡتُ نَسۡیًا مَّنۡسِیًّا
﴿۲۳﴾
Then the birth pangs drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She said (in anxiety): ‘Would that I had died before this and had become totally forgotten!’
फिर दर्देजे़ह उन्हें एक खजूर के तने की तरफ ले आया, वोह (परेशानी के आलम में) कहने लगीं: ऐ काश! मैं पहले से मर गई होती और बिल्कुल भूली बिसरी हो चुकी होती।
Then the birth pangs drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She said (in anxiety): ‘Would that I had died before this and had become totally forgotten!’
फिर दर्देजे़ह उन्हें एक खजूर के तने की तरफ ले आया, वोह (परेशानी के आलम में) कहने लगीं: ऐ काश! मैं पहले से मर गई होती और बिल्कुल भूली बिसरी हो चुकी होती।
[Maryam, 19:24]
فَنَادٰىہَا مِنۡ تَحۡتِہَاۤ اَلَّا تَحۡزَنِیۡ قَدۡ جَعَلَ رَبُّکِ تَحۡتَکِ سَرِیًّا
﴿۲۴﴾
Then (Gabriel or ‘Isa [Jesus] himself) called out to her from beneath her: ‘Grieve not. Surely, your Lord has made a water spring flow under you (or has created and laid under you an exalted human being).
फिर उनके नीचे की जानिब से (जिबराईल ने या ख़ुद ईसा अ़लैहिस्सलाम ने) उन्हें आवाज़ दी कि तू रन्जीदा न हो बेशक तुम्हारे रब ने तुम्हारे नीचे एक चश्मा जारी कर दिया है (या तुम्हारे नीचे एक अ़ज़ीमुल मर्तबा इंसान को पैदा करके लिटा दिया है) ।
[Maryam, 19:25]
وَ ہُزِّیۡۤ اِلَیۡکِ بِجِذۡعِ النَّخۡلَۃِ تُسٰقِطۡ عَلَیۡکِ رُطَبًا جَنِیًّا
﴿۫۲۵﴾
And shake the trunk of the date-palm towards you. It will shed fresh ripe dates upon you.
और खजूर के तने को अपनी तरफ हिलाओ वोह तुम पर ताज़ा पकी हुई खजूरें गिरा देगा।
[Maryam, 19:26]
فَکُلِیۡ وَ اشۡرَبِیۡ وَ قَرِّیۡ عَیۡنًا ۚ فَاِمَّا تَرَیِنَّ مِنَ الۡبَشَرِ اَحَدًا ۙ فَقُوۡلِیۡۤ اِنِّیۡ نَذَرۡتُ لِلرَّحۡمٰنِ صَوۡمًا فَلَنۡ اُکَلِّمَ الۡیَوۡمَ اِنۡسِیًّا
﴿ۚ۲۶﴾
So eat and drink and cool (your) eyes (with the sight of your beautiful, lovely baby). Then if you see any man, say (to him by gestures): ‘I have vowed a fast (of silence) to the Most Gracious (Lord), so I shall just not talk to any human being today.’
सो तुम खाओ और पियो और (अपने हसीनो जमील फरज़न्द को देख कर) आंखें ठंडी करो, फिर अगर तुम किसी भी इंसान को देखो तो (इशारे से) कह देना कि मैं ने (खु़दाए) रहमान के लिए (ख़ामोशी के) रोजे़ की नज़र मानी हुई है सो मैं आज किसी इंसान से क़त्अ़न गुफ्तगू नहीं करूंगी।
[Maryam, 19:27]
فَاَتَتۡ بِہٖ قَوۡمَہَا تَحۡمِلُہٗ ؕ قَالُوۡا یٰمَرۡیَمُ لَقَدۡ جِئۡتِ شَیۡئًا فَرِیًّا
﴿۲۷﴾
Then, carrying (the baby in her lap), she came to her people. They said: ‘O Maryam (Mary), surely you have brought quite an amazing thing!
फिर वोह उस (बच्चे) को (गोद में) उठाए हुए अपनी क़ौम के पास आ गईं। वोह कहने लगे: ऐ मर्यम! यक़ीनन तू बहुत ही अ़जीब चीज़ लाई है।
[Maryam, 19:28]
یٰۤاُخۡتَ ہٰرُوۡنَ مَا کَانَ اَبُوۡکِ امۡرَ اَ سَوۡءٍ وَّ مَا کَانَتۡ اُمُّکِ بَغِیًّا
﴿ۖۚ۲۸﴾
O sister of Harun (Aaron)! Neither was your father a bad man, nor was your mother an unchaste woman.’
ऐ हारून की बहन! न तेरा बाप बुरा आदमी था और न ही तेरी मां बदचलन थी।
[Maryam, 19:29]
فَاَشَارَتۡ اِلَیۡہِ ؕ قَالُوۡا کَیۡفَ نُکَلِّمُ مَنۡ کَانَ فِی الۡمَہۡدِ صَبِیًّا
﴿۲۹﴾
On this Maryam (Mary) pointed to (the baby). They said: ‘How can we talk to him who is (yet) an infant in the cradle?’
तो मर्यम (अ़लैहा अस्सलाम) ने उस (बच्चे) की तरफ इशारा किया, वोह कहने लगे: हम उससे किस तरह बात करें जो (अभी) गेहवारे में बच्चा है?
[Maryam, 19:30]
قَالَ اِنِّیۡ عَبۡدُ اللّٰہِ ۟ؕ اٰتٰنِیَ الۡکِتٰبَ وَ جَعَلَنِیۡ نَبِیًّا
﴿ۙ۳۰﴾
(The infant himself) spoke out: ‘I am indeed a servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and has raised me as a Prophet.
(बच्चा ख़ुद) बोल पड़ा: बेशक मैं अल्लाह का बन्दा हूं उसने मुझे किताब अ़ता फरमाई है और मुझे नबी बनाया है।
[Maryam, 19:31]
وَّ جَعَلَنِیۡ مُبٰرَکًا اَیۡنَ مَا کُنۡتُ ۪ وَ اَوۡصٰنِیۡ بِالصَّلٰوۃِ وَ الزَّکٰوۃِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَیًّا
وَّ جَعَلَنِیۡ مُبٰرَکًا اَیۡنَ مَا کُنۡتُ ۪ وَ اَوۡصٰنِیۡ بِالصَّلٰوۃِ وَ الزَّکٰوۃِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَیًّا
﴿۪ۖ۳۱﴾
And wherever I may reside, He has made me an embodiment of blessing. And He has enjoined upon me Prayer and Zakat (the Alms-due) as long as I am alive.
और मैं जहां कहीं भी रहूं उसने मुझे सरापा बरकत बनाया है और मैं जब तक (भी) ज़िन्दा हूं उसने मुझे नमाज़ और ज़कात का हुक्म फरमाया है।
And wherever I may reside, He has made me an embodiment of blessing. And He has enjoined upon me Prayer and Zakat (the Alms-due) as long as I am alive.
और मैं जहां कहीं भी रहूं उसने मुझे सरापा बरकत बनाया है और मैं जब तक (भी) ज़िन्दा हूं उसने मुझे नमाज़ और ज़कात का हुक्म फरमाया है।
[Maryam, 19:32]
وَّ بَرًّۢا بِوَالِدَتِیۡ ۫ وَ لَمۡ یَجۡعَلۡنِیۡ جَبَّارًا شَقِیًّا
﴿۳۲﴾
And (He has made me) treat my mother with excellence and has not made me disobedient and ill-fated.
और अपनी वालिदा के साथ नेक सुलूक करने वाला (बनाया है) और उसने मुझे सरकशो बदबख़्त नहीं बनाया।
[Maryam, 19:33]
وَ السَّلٰمُ عَلَیَّ یَوۡمَ وُلِدۡتُّ وَ یَوۡمَ اَمُوۡتُ وَ یَوۡمَ اُبۡعَثُ حَیًّا
﴿۳۳﴾
And peace be upon me on the day of my birth, the day of my demise and the day I shall be raised up alive!’
और मुझ पर सलाम हो मेरे मीलाद के दिन, और मेरी वफात के दिन, और जिस दिन मैं ज़िन्दा उठाया जाऊंगा।
[Maryam, 19:34]
ذٰلِکَ عِیۡسَی ابۡنُ مَرۡیَمَ ۚ قَوۡلَ الۡحَقِّ الَّذِیۡ فِیۡہِ یَمۡتَرُوۡنَ
﴿۳۴﴾
Such is ‘Isa, the son of Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary. That is) the truth about which these people doubt.
ये मर्यम (अ़लैहा अस्सलाम) के बेटे ईसा (अ़लैहिस्सलाम) हैं, (येही) सच्ची बात है जिसमें ये लोग शक करते हैं।
[Maryam, 19:35]
مَا کَانَ لِلّٰہِ اَنۡ یَّتَّخِذَ مِنۡ وَّلَدٍ ۙ سُبۡحٰنَہٗ ؕ اِذَا قَضٰۤی اَمۡرًا فَاِنَّمَا یَقُوۡلُ لَہٗ کُنۡ فَیَکُوۡنُ
﴿ؕ۳۵﴾
It is not Allah’s Glory that He should take (to Himself anyone as) a son. Holy and Glorified is He (above this)! When He decrees any matter, He only says to it: ‘Be,’ and it becomes.
ये अल्लाह की शान नहीं कि वोह (किसी को अपना) बेटा बनाए, वोह (उससे) पाक है जब वोह किसी काम का फैसला फरमाता है तो उसे सिर्फ़ येही हुक्म देता है “हो जा” बस वोह हो जाता है।
[Maryam, 19:36]
وَ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ رَبِّیۡ وَ رَبُّکُمۡ فَاعۡبُدُوۡہُ ؕ ہٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسۡتَقِیۡمٌ
﴿۳۶﴾
And surely, Allah is my Lord and your Lord (too). So always worship Him alone. This is the straight path.
और बेशक अल्लाह मेरा (भी) रब है और तुम्हारा (भी) रब है सो तुम उसी की इबादत किया करो, येही सीधा रास्ता है।
