Invoking your Lord

Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani said: 

"Do not allow the negative thoughts you have about yourself, nor the multiple sins you have committed prevent you from invoking your Lord. 

For verily, He [Allah] responded to the invocation of Iblis when he said:

'O' my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected (38:79).'

قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنۡظِرۡنِیۡۤ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُوۡنَ

He said: ‘O Lord, then grant me respite (to remain alive) until the Day when people will be raised up (again) from the graves.’

उसने कहा: ऐ परवरदिगार! पस तू मुझे उस दिन तक (ज़िन्दा रहने की) मोहलत दे दे जिस दिन लोग (दोबारा) क़ब्रों से उठाए जाएंगे।
