Quran comprises of words of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى, as revealed on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Hence, we must ensure that these words are recited correctly. Arabic is quite a rich language, having a distinct pronunciation for every letter and sometimes different pronunciations for the same letter. It is, therefore, critical for the reciter to read each and every word with precision. Therefore, Tajweed, the proper application of the rules of pronunciation and articulation when reciting the Quran, is important for reading the Quran correctly.
